ICOMOS Germany EPWG Summer School 2025.

This is an open call for participation in the ICOMOS Germany EPWG Summer School 2025.

 

From September 4 to 7, the four day school will take place in Munich, focusing on the 1972 Olympic Park, a landmark of 20th century heritage currently on Germany’s Tentative List for World Heritage nomination. Participants will explore the complexities of conserving modern heritage through the lens of the Conservation Management Plan (CMP), engaging with its application to this iconic site.

The program will include guided tours, expert lectures, and hands on teamwork, culminating in group presentations on topics such as architecture and landscape, future use, human scale, and the tent roof structure. Participants will gain first hand insight into the CMP process and the challenges of heritage management in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

We welcome applications from emerging professionals and students from disciplines such as architecture, conservation, urbanism, art history, and related fields. Applicants of all nationalities and ages are invited to apply.

Please note that travel, accommodation, and meals are NOT covered by the organizers. Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the workshop.

Participation is free of charge.
The working language will be English.

The summer school will be limited to 20 participants, selected based on their applications.

Application Deadline is 15.July 2025

Results will be announced by the end of July 2025.
